ICTS faculty member Anirban Basak, has received the Feinberg Graduate School Postdoc Prize from the Weizmann Institute, Israel, for his postdoctoral research on Random Matrices.

Basak has also received an honourable mention in the Bernoulli Society New Researcher Award, of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability, in recognition of his outstanding work in the fields of Mathematical Statistics and Probability.

In addition to the above two honours, Basak is also the recipient of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India’s SERB MATRICS grant and the SERB Start-up Research Grant, for 2019. His interests lie in probability theory and its application in other fields. His current research work focuses on random graphs and matrices, statistical physics, large deviations, and interacting particle system.
