The modern method of physics pedagogy promotes "active learning", wherein students are active participants in the class instead of being passive listeners. This approach includes interactive classes, peer discussion, interactive simulations, and project -based learning.
Physics Teachers Training Program (PTTP) is a program to engage with motivated teachers from across India to introduce them to modern trends in physics teaching. The program from January 9-13, 2023 will focus on discussing Quantum Mechanics at the MSc level with interactive classes and discussion.
Physics Teacher Training Program (PTTP) is an extension for teachers of the highly successful Physics Training and Talent Search (PTTS) program (https://www.ptts.org.in/) for students. Over the past seven years PTTS has organised several schools for undergraduate and postgraduate students following the active learning pedagogy.
This PTTP program is for motivated teachers teaching Quantum Mechanics at the MSc level. The emphasis will be on strengthening one’s understanding of the topics in the MSc curriculum. The program is designed to be highly interactive and participants are expected to engage with the instructors and each other. It will also include project-based learning. Attempts will be made to include hands-on interactive simulations.
25 participants from across India will be selected for the program. This is a residential program and all participants are expected to stay on the ICTS campus.
ICTS is committed to building an environment that is inclusive, non discriminatory and welcoming of diverse individuals. We especially encourage the participation of women and other under-represented groups.
