ICTS-RRI Maths Circle is a Bengaluru-based initiative by International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) and Raman Research Institute (RRI) for secondary school students. The sessions will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. We aim to identify exceptionally gifted students at an earlier age and shape them. The idea of this initiative is to expose children to problem-solving and thinking in an open-ended way about mathematics. Students meet regularly, learn through dialogue with facilitators and friends, and collaborate on problems.
Explorations include fun activities, where students are encouraged to problem-posing in addition to problem-solving. Deemphasize the competition and doing things in a timed way. Active researchers in mathematics curate the Explorations. Facilitators will be passionate, creative researchers who can convey the beauty of mathematics and have good pedagogical skills. ICTS-RRI Maths Circle is part of the broader Maths Circle India (MCI) initiative which is being run online.
