Students selected for regular PhD (M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech./ME) need to complete the coursework requirements and register for a PhD within 2 years of joining.
Please find the first-year core course structure here. The second-year is more flexible where the students can do courses/ projects according to their interests. Some of the courses in the second year could be in IISc too. The details of graduate course work as follows:
At the end of the coursework, the student needs to pass a comprehensive exam after which he/she can register for a PhD.
Successful candidates will receive a degree through the Mathematics Subject Board of the TIFR Graduate School.
