Abstract
Frustrated magnetic systems host competing interactions between the localized magnetic moments or spins, which can't be satisfied simultaneously. This gives rise to large degeneracy in the ground state. In certain cases, it hosts long-ranged entangled yet a disordered fluid-like ground state, the so-called Quantum Spin Liquid (QSL) state. The Kitaev model (KM) is one of the celebrated models, for which there is a wide range of material in different dimensions. I will discuss the scenario of QSL particularly focusing on KM and relevant materials.
