Data is the new currency for enabling scientific discoveries. Energy Sciences Network is the premier science network connecting national labs, science instruments like the Large Hadron Collider and high-performance computing resources like Frontier (the top Exascale HPC system in the world at Oakridge National Lab). The network moves around 1.4 Exabytes of scientific data in a year. This talk will give a high-level overview of the network, the high-speed data movement techniques, describe how the science projects use this infrastructure to accelerate scientific discoveries and motivate the integration of data, compute and network as the future paradigm for data-intensive science.
