The workshop is being planned as the first of several meetings to strengthen and help grow the climate sciences effort in India. Senior researchers (including faculty at universities and scientists) as well as post-doctoral fellows and PhD students are encouraged to apply. The workshop will also be suitable for people relatively new to this area of research.
An important component of the Workshop will be the Infosys-ICTS Turing Lectures which will be delivered by Prof. J. Srinivasan, Distinguished Scientist, Divecha Centre for Climate Change and Honorary Professor, Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, which will give some basic background and provide exposure to the current state of the art in the field.
The workshop is being planned to leave lots of time for informal discussion and some hands-on exposure to aspects of modelling. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend in person to fully benefit from the meeting. Preference will be given for those wishing to attend in person.
Eligibility Criteria: Faculty, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from any discipline, but with interest in climate studies.
