ICTS first year I-Phd student, Bikram Pain, was awarded the gold medal by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) for his stellar performance in the National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE-21). The NGPE was started in 1989 to encourage bright students to take up careers in physics. The exam is held across 270 centres.
The IAPT was founded by Prof. D.P. Khandelwal in 1984. It has more than 8000 members.
