ICTS is delighted to announce that ICTS-TIFR's Prof. Rama Govindarjan and her collaborator, Prof. Prashant Valluri, from the University of Edinburgh, have successfully applied for the Vaibhav Collaborative fellowship of the DST/SERB, Government of India. They are part of the initial cohort of awardees of this very selective fellowship, across all STEM areas, which aims to promote long-term collaboration between Indian researchers and those in the Indian diaspora. As part of this collaboration, Prof. Valluri will visit ICTS for a month or so every year for the next three years.
Through this collaboration, Prof. Rama Govindarajan will continue working on raindrops. “We are hoping to simulate actual raindrops growing due to condensation and interactions and understand something about the late stages of rain formation,” she said.
“We are thrilled that ICTS is amongst the first set of institutions selected under this scheme,” said Prof. Rajesh Gopakumar, Centre Director, ICTS-TIFR. “On behalf of ICTS, I would like to congratulate Rama and Prashant and offer best wishes for a productive collaboration in the coming years.”
