1. Technical Trainee - Information Technology (IT)
Essential Qualifications:
- Science Graduate from a recognized University/Institute OR Diploma in Engineering in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent.
Experience:
- Freshers with relevant skills preferred
Nature of training:
- Setting up, maintenance, and auditing of workstations, laptops, and printers.
- Installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting the IT hardware systems.
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems and Applications. Hybrid VC setup and handling for meetings and events.
2. Technical Trainee - Web Development (Web)
Essential Qualifications:
- Science Graduate from a recognized University/Institute OR Diploma in Engineering in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Information Technology (IT), and equivalent.
Experience:
- Freshers with relevant skills preferred
Nature of training:
Training in the areas of web development projects, development of Android and IOS apps, Drupal CMS, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Jquery, JAVA, Javascript, LAMP stack, and various Opensource technologies.
3. Project Scientific Assistant B (IT)
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent.
OR
Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent. - Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems (installation, configuration & troubleshooting).
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
Job Profile:
This job involves providing administrative support for all the IT related tasks of the Centre. This broadly includes the following functions:-
- Responsible for day-to-day IT requirements i.e. user management, troubleshooting, hardware/software installation, printer deployment, and managing ERP application backups
- Physical maintenance of networking switches, wireless access points, managing CCTV infrastructure and video management server, auditing systems and software, maintaining documentation.
- Coordinating with vendors, handling IP-Phone installation and maintenance, IT procurements, coordinate physical verification of IT equipment
- Any other task assigned by the Centre Director
4. Project Scientific Assistant B (Outreach)
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Physical or Mathematical Sciences.
OR
Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks). - Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile
Desirable:
- Individuals who have experience and broad interest in science education and public outreach.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and to work in a team.
- Proficiency in regional languages (especially Kannada) is highly desirable.
Job Profile:
Public outreach is a core mandate of ICTS. The Science Communication Center at ICTS aims to significantly expand its activities in science communication and public outreach. The candidate is expected to:
- Coordinate the logistics of various outreach activities of the Center, such as public lectures and events.
- Coordinate outreach school visits and Math Circle initiative.
- Contribute to other activities of the center, such as science communication through print, electronic, film and social media.
- Assist with outreach events and activities i.e. managing contacts, poster printing and distribution, sending bulk emails, follow-up with colleges, coordinating with ICTS teams
General Instructions:

All the above posts are tenable at ICTS, Bangalore.

Appointments for the above posts at Sr. No. 1 and 2 will be initially for 06 (six) months which may be extended up to 01 (One) year depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. The tenure, however, could be extended for another year if felt necessary after review and the requirement of the center.
This trainee scheme is purely a facility for on-job training provided to individuals. Selected candidate(s) will be required to join immediately. Trainees would not have any claim for any permanent or temporary appointment in the institute either during or after the training period.
No reservation would be applicable as this is purely a training scheme. -
Appointments for the above posts at Sr. 3 and 4 will be initially for one year which may be extended depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre.
