The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS- TIFR), a premier research centre (an Autonomous, Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and a Deemed University) is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven individuals for the below posts under the unreserved category at its Bengaluru Campus. 1. Clerk A - Purchase/Stores (Temporary)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate from a recognised University/ Institute with  aggregate of 50% marks.

  • Knowledge of typing.

  • Knowledge of use of personal computers and applications – supported by certificates from the Government recognized institutions.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in clerical duties and correspondence in a large and reputed organisation.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of GFR, Government e-procurement, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and other Government purchase and stores rules and regulations.

  • Proficient in oral and written communication in English

Job Profile: 

This job involves providing administrative support for all the purchase/stores related tasks of the Centre. This broadly includes the following functions:-

  • Processing indents and floating enquiries, preparing comparative statement, coordinating with bidders for clarifications

  • Preparation of purchase orders and amendments, follow-up with vendors for supply of materials and bills, coordinate for payment

  • Maintaining the purchase/work order files, report generation from TIIS, providing inputs for various financial reports

  • Receipt of materials, classification and issue, preparing goods received note, stores arrival intimation, handling stock verification, maintaining stock register

  • Procuring stationeries, handling cash purchases and maintaining records

  • Maintaining asset register, fixing accession numbers, arranging annual asset verification, preparing gate pass and data feeding in Datanet

  • Any other task assigned by the Section Incharge.

 

2. Clerk A - Academic Office (Temporary) 

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate from a recognised University/ Institute with  aggregate of 50% marks.

  • Knowledge of typing.

  • Knowledge of use of personal computers and applications – supported by certificates from the Government recognized institutions.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in clerical duties and correspondence in a large and reputed organisation.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Desirable: 

  • Proficient in oral and written communication in English.

  • Proficient in computer skills (like MS Office, Spreadsheets, Google docs etc.) and with excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Profile: 

This job involves providing administrative support for all the admin related tasks of the Centre. This broadly includes the following functions:-

  • Providing logistical support for the graduate admissions, scheduling orientation camp, logistical arrangements of selected candidates, assigning faculty mentor, office space

  • Handling the academic affairs of graduate program - course coordination,Ph.D. registration, annual talks, synopsis seminar, thesis defence, preparing transcripts and letters, database management

  • Handling the logistical requirements of the SN Bhatt program, LTVSP, postdoc program

  • Handing the logistical requirements of academic visitors, updating website, TA reimbursements, DAE approvals of foreign visitors, AI exemptions

  • Managing seminars & colloquia, string seminars, Infosys string seminars, physics@ICTS, dynamic Fridays, QSSS, weekly meetings, skype/ VC meetings, special lectures

  • Handling lecture hall  reservations, office space management, database management, assisting in reports

  • Any other task assigned by the Section Incharge.

 

3. Scientific Assistant B - IT (Temporary)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent. 

OR

Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent.

  • Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Desirable: 

  • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems (installation, configuration & troubleshooting).

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.

Job Profile: 

This job involves providing administrative support for all the IT related tasks of the Centre. This broadly includes the following functions:-

  • Responsible for day-to-day IT requirements i.e. user management, troubleshooting, hardware/software installation, printer deployment, managing ERP application backups

  • Physical maintenance of networking switches, wireless access points, managing CCTV infrastructure and video management server, auditing systems and software, maintaining documentations

  • Coordinating with vendors, handling IP-Phone installation and maintenance, IT procurements, coordinate physical verification of IT equipment 

  • Any other task assigned by the Centre Director

 

4. Scientific Assistant B - AV (Temporary)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Time Science Graduate (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Audio Visual(AV), Cinematography (CN), Sound Recording (SR), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent.        

OR

Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with aggregate of 60% marks) in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), Electronics & Communication (EC), Information Technology (IT), Audio Visual(AV), Cinematography (CN), Sound Recording (SR), Computer Hardware and Networking and equivalent.

  • Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Desirable: 

  • Working knowledge of projector operations, video conference, joystick controller, audio DSP, control systems, and video mixer.

  • Hands-on experience in handling audio visual equipment like audio amplifier, HD PTZ cameras, video matrix switcher,  and recording/streaming devices.

Job Profile: 

This job involves providing administrative support for all the AV related tasks of the Centre. This broadly includes the following functions:-

  • Providing AV support for ICTS programs, seminars and colloquia, outreach events, installing equipment i.e. microphones, sound speakers, projectors etc. 

  • Handling video recording, processing and uploading videos, providing support for video conferences, online meetings, audio bridge conference, collecting slides from the speakers

  • Setting up audio and stage lighting for special programs and cultural events

  • Any other task assigned by the Centre Director

 

General Instructions:

  1. All the above posts are tenable at ICTS, Bangalore

  2. Appointments for the above posts will be initially for six months which may be extended upto 1 year maximum depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. Selected candidate(s) will be required to join immediately.

  3. Prescribed age should not exceed as on January 1, 2024 for the above posts. 

  4. The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained from recognized university/institution/boards.Wherever grades are awarded by Universities/Institutes in CGPA/SGPA/OGPA etc. system, candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula adopted by the University/Institute and mention the percentage at the appropriate column in the application form.
