Reflective Mathematics Teaching

The first session will focus on defining the three key aspects of being a Reflective Mathematics Teacher. It will cover strategies for specifying teaching goals, addressing student anxieties related to Mathematics, and understanding the three Pedagogical pillars of mathematics teaching and learning. The session will include interactive activities such as questionnaires, role-playing, and group discussions on writing learning objectives.

The second session will explore core ideas in Mathematics, focusing on Geometric Reasoning. The session will be organized into five units covering concepts such as shape understanding, analyzing and describing shapes, classifying shapes, inferential geometric reasoning, and the importance of proof in Geometry. Activities will include digital games, worksheets, and discussions on geometric reasoning.

Exploring Optics Through Interactive Experiments

In this hands-on workshop, Shri H.R. Madhusudan will delve into the fascinating world of Optics, drawing parallels between optical and acoustic properties and phenomena. Rather than using a prepared presentation, the session will be driven by the questions and curiosities of the participating teachers. Shri Madhusudan will address these queries through a series of interactive experiments related to optics and sound, fostering a deep conceptual understanding. He will also pose challenging questions to the teachers, encouraging critical thinking and engagement with the subject matter.
