Geometric methods in Percolation and Spin Models | ICTS

Program
ORGANIZERS
Subhajit Goswami (TIFR, Mumbai, India), Piet Lammers (CNRS, Paris, France) and Trishen S. Gunaratnam (TIFR, Mumbai, India and ICTS, Bengaluru, India)
DATE & TIME
02 March 2026 to 13 March 2026
VENUE
Ramanujan Lecture Hall, ICTS

This program is centred around two vibrant and active fields in probability theory: percolation and spin models. The emphasis is on geometric approaches for analyzing critical phenomena in this context.

The core themes of the program are

  • Scaling limits and universality in two-dimensional statistical mechanics.

  • Geometric representations of correlation functions in all dimensions.

  • Mathematical progress towards rigorous renormalization schemes.

Accommodation will be provided for outstation participants at our on campus guest house.

Eligibility criteria:

1. Conference eligibility:
Open registration for researchers in the field (including early career researchers).
Housing is guaranteed only for invited participants.

2. Spring school eligibility:
Open registration for researchers, postdocs, PhD students.
We particularly encourage early career researchers to apply.
Invite only to MSc and BSc students.

This event is intended for people with research interests in probability theory and mathematical physics.

ICTS is committed to building an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory and welcoming of diverse individuals. We especially encourage the participation of women and other under-represented
groups.
