In two recent papers Phys Rev B(20150, Nature Physics (2016) new effect of zero-point electromagnetic interactions: the creation of coherent mesoscale structures were predicted and then observed. These effects are only observable only if a number of conditions are satisfied. In the talk we explain how such structures can form using simple qualitative reasoning.
