Abstract
The talk will focus on the effects of inertia, gravity and surface tension on three different free surface flows which separate liquid and air at various scales. In the first problem that explores the effect of inertia, the formation of a fast moving jet caused by the sudden impact of partially filled fluid containers will be discussed. In the second part, I will talk about the observation of coherent vortical motions when surface gravity waves interact resonantly. A simple formulation to model surface tension driven interfacial retraction motion applicable for various coalescence dynamics and film rupture is explained in the final part.
