CONFERENCE HOTELS

The following map shows the approximate location of the seven conference hotels in Goa, with respect to the Goa airport and the Margaon railway station:

VISA : Nationals of most countries require a visa to travel to India. Please contact your local Indian consulate. Information is also available at the Indian Government website

Arrival

FROM WITHIN INDIA :

By Train : If you are arriving in Goa from within India, by train, the most convenient railway station to get down at is Madgaon (same as Margao). This is the station nearest to the conference hotel Holiday Inn Resort Goa and to the hotels Royal Goan Beach Club and Old Anchor Resort [distance 10-15 kms.]

Train reservation opens three months before date of travel, and early reservation is strongly recommended. A possible convenient way to book is online at the website www.irctc.co.in  Alternately, booking can be done at the Railway Reservation Counters at your local railway station.

By Air : Goa is well connected by air to most major Indian cities, and served by various airlines. Early booking is recommended.

FROM OUTSIDE INDIA :

IF Travelling via Mumbai [BOMBAY] : Mumbai is one possible convenient international airport from which one can take a connecting domestic flight to Goa. Flight time from Mumbai to Goa is about one hour, and many flights are available during the day.

Please note that after exiting from the international airport, one has to transfer to the domestic airport. This is best done by availing of the free airport coach facility. Travel time in the coach is about 20-25 minutes. More information can be found on the website of the Mumbai International Airport [Under Services and Facilities/Inter-terminal transfers] :

We suggest that you give a time gap of about four hours between your international arrival and domestic departure. Baggage collection and custom clearance is generally at Mumbai International Airport, but please do verify while checking in for your first flight.

Accommodation

South Goa has plenty of options for Accomodation in various price categories and you may want to book your own accomodation via online internet reservation. Please preferably book a hotel in the areas Varca/Cavelossim/Mobor of South Goa, so as to be not too far [within 5-10 kms] of the conference hotel Holiday Inn.

The Conference Hotel, Holiday Inn Resort Goa, is located at Mobor Beach, in Cavelossim. It is 42 kms from the Goa Airport [Dabolim Airport] and 18 kms from the nearest main Railway Station, Margao. You might also want to consider sharing a room at Holiday Inn with another conference participant, to reduce costs. Please mention that you are a conference participant. This is an excellent top-end hotel which is offering a very reasonable conference rate, and early booking is strongly recommended as rooms are beginning to fill up.

If you would like to book a room through the Conference Organizing Committee, please let us know during the registration period [1st August - 15th September, 2011].

If you wish to apply to the conference organizing committee for financial support for accomodation, please indicate so while filling out the Pre-registration form. If your request is accepted the conference will arrange your accomodation on a sharing basis.

Please note the conference will arrange transport to the conference venue [Holiday Inn] only from those Hotels where accomodation is being arranged by the conference.
