Abstract:
Entanglement entropy in quantum field theories suffers from UV divergences, and one might hope that string theory being a UV finite theory cures these divergences. This lecture series will be a survey of this field starting from the work of Susskind and Uglum. We will also make some comments on understanding black hole entropy from the point of view of the string worldsheet.
