The S-matrix bootstrap is an old idea of solving theories by internal consistency. In light of the recent success of the conformal bootstrap we will take a new look at it. We will review some classic results and present recent developments in both analytic and numerical approach to the S-matrix bootstrap in d>2 spacetime dimensions.
