ICTS Associate Dootika Vats has received the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS) Emerging Leader Award “for significant contributions to Markov chain Monte Carlo research and revitalizing the area of Markov chain output analysis, for exemplary vision and leadership in nurturing academic talents, and for facilitating a reemergence of Indian statistics within the world arena.”
This award honours young statistical scientists who demonstrate exceptional promise for leadership and are expected to shape and strengthen the future of the field.
Prof. Vats is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
