We are happy to share that Prof. Rajesh Gopakumar, Senior Professor and Centre Director ICTS-TIFR, has received the IIT Kanpur Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) 2019.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the highest award given by IIT Kanpur to its alumni in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
Rajesh Gopakumar did his undergraduate degree in Physics from IIT-Kanpur and his Ph.D. at Princeton University. Rajesh Gopakumar's interests are in theoretical physics, primarily at the intersection of quantum field theory and string theory. A lot of his research has focused on deciphering the AdS/CFT correspondence.
