ICTS International Advisory Board member Subir Sachdev has been elected a Foreign Fellow of the Royal Society. Professor Sachdev is Herchel Smith Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics, Harvard University, and works on theoretical condensed matter physics. He has been deeply involved with the growth of ICTS.
The Royal Society said: “Eighty outstanding researchers, innovators and communicators from around the world have been elected as the newest Fellows of the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences and the oldest science academy in continuous existence.”
Reacting to the news, Professor Sachdev said: “I was delighted to hear about my election by the distinguished fellows of the Royal Society. It will be the thrill of a lifetime to sign my name in the same book as Newton, Ramanujan, Einstein, Hawking, and many other legendary scientists. The honour has a special meaning to my parents’ generation, who grew up in British India.”
ICTS congratulates Professor Sachdev for this recognition of his outstanding contribution to science.
