The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS-TIFR), a premier research center (an Autonomous, Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and a Deemed University), is looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals for an appointment for the following post at its Bengaluru Campus.

The essential criteria are given below:

Essential Qualification:

• Graduate from a recognized university/ institute.

• Knowledge of typing and use of personal computers and applications.

• Excellent organizational skills and a keen interest in administration.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student/academic data.

Desirable:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to assist with official documentation.

• Familiarity with digital collaboration tools, e.g., shared drives.

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural research environment.

• Proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.

Freshers with computer & typing knowledge can apply for this position.

Nature of Training: Training in the areas of General Administration, Academic Office and Faculty Secretarial duties.

General Instructions:

1. The above post is tenable at ICTS, Bangalore

2. Appointment for the above post will be initially for 06 (six) months, which may be extended up to 01 (One) year depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. The tenure, however, could be extended for another year if felt necessary after review and the requirements of the center. 

3. This trainee scheme is purely a facility for on-the-job training provided to individuals. Selected candidate(s) will be required to join immediately. Trainees would not have any claim for any permanent or temporary appointment in the institute either during or after the training period.

4. The prescribed age should not exceed as on 01 January 2026 for the above post.

5. Interested candidates should report for the selection process on Friday, 15 May 2026, along with their CV and the following original documents for verification with a photocopy.

   1. Identity Proof (Adhar Card / Election Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License).

   2. Resume/CV

   3. Date of birth/ Proof of age.

   4. Educational Qualification (all mark sheets and certificates).
      The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions/Boards. In case Universities/Board award letter grades/CGPA/OGPA, the same will have to be indicated as an equivalent percentage of marks as per the norms adopted by the University/Board. In the absence of the same, the candidature will not be considered. 

   5. Experience certificates (if any).

             Reporting time: 10:00 am

             Location: ICTS campus, Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru (please report at the main security gate on arrival).

6. No reservation would be applicable as this is purely a training scheme.

7. Leave: Entitlement of leave will be as per the Institute leave rules for Trainees.

8. The training period could be truncated for any reason with a notice of one month on either side.

9. The selection process will consist of a skill test (computer-based) and a written test (Multiple choice questions (MCQ) on logical comprehension of written text, general knowledge, awareness of current events, drafting emails and documents, etc). The qualifying marks (cut-off marks) should be 60% or more in the written test. Skill test will be of a qualifying nature i.e. Qualified/Not Qualified. The cut-off mark for the skill test is 60%. A merit list of candidates will be prepared based on marks in the written test.

10. Working hours for trainees shall be similar to the regular employees but they would have to work on Saturdays and holidays, as per the requirements of the department/section. They will not be eligible for any OT allowances.

11. The Center reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for the recruitment process to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications and experience will not entitle an applicant to be called for the recruitment process. More vacancies may also be filled through this advertisement. The center reserves the right not to fill any/some posts herein advertised. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post.

12. Before applying for the post, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and other criteria. Recruitment authorities would be free to reject applications not fulfilling the requisite criteria, at any stage of recruitment, and if erroneously appointed, such candidates shall be liable to be terminated from service if appointed.
