The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), a premier research centre (an Autonomous, Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India), invites highly motivated and self-driven individuals for the post of Junior Research Fellow to work on a project on “Non-local description of anomalous heat transport” at its Bengaluru office.
Essential qualification & experience:
- MSc/MS/BS/BSc in Physics or M Tech/B Tech/B E (Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace/Chemical Engineering/Computer Science) from a recognized University or equivalent.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in physics in Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
Job Profile: To work on heat transfer problems in low dimensional systems. Such systems are expected to exhibit anomalous transport and seem to be characterised by non-local extension of Fourier’s law. The project aims to understand such non-local description using a linear response theory which involves performing theoretical calculations as well as numerical simulations.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) - Rs. 37,000/- + HRA
