The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS-TIFR), a premier research centre (an Autonomous, Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and a Deemed University) is looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals for the below posts under the unreserved category at its Bengaluru Campus. 1. Project Junior Engineer B (Electrical)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full time Diploma in Engineering (from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks) in a relevant discipline [Electrical Engineering].
  • Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
  • 2 years experience in a similar job profile.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Job Profile:

  • Responsible for electrical operation, scheduled maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting
  • Supervising Project operation & maintenance, planning project work, quality analysis & checking, preparing estimations, project measurement, CAD drawing 
  • Training colleagues and AMC employees, AMC and project management with the vendor, electrical safety check, data logging, and electrical store management.
  • Any other task assigned by the Section in charge.

Selected candidate may have to work in the round-the-clock shift duties if required

3. Project Technical Officer C (Electrical)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full time Degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech with aggregate of 60% marks) from a recognized university//institute in relevant subject/discipline. [Electrical Engineering]
  • 3 years of experience in the following profile:-

(i) Installation, Operation and Maintenance of large electrical installation having substation with HT & LT switch gears, transformers, protective electrical system, D.G. set, Control system, Lab wiring, etc. 

ii) Study the requirement of electrical work, Preparation of tender specification & drawings, estimation of cost, tender scrutiny & award of contract, execution of work through interaction with contractor including taking & certifying the measurement, etc.

Desirable Skills 

  • Post qualification experience preferred. Working experience in large electrical installation of multi-storied educational buildings having electrical substations with knowledge of CPWD schedule of rate & procedure. 
  • Usage of Computers and working with applications like AutoCAD, Staad pro, etc. Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
  • Candidates should have fluency in oral and written communication and documentation skills.

Job Profile: 

  • The job profile involves planning, designing, erection, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of all electrical installations like lighting, power distribution (HT/ LT transformers), DG set, fire alarm system, UPS, and other electrical systems in accordance with relevant standards. 
  • Maintenance of the HVAC System, Fire Fighting System, Sewage Treatment Plant, Data Center Power and Cooling System
  • The person appointed shall lead the large workforce comprising technicians, Jr. Engineers, etc. and is responsible for the upkeep of the electrical installation for uninterrupted round the clock operation.
  • Any other task assigned by the Head of Engineering services or Center Director.

 

General Information: 

  1. The above posts are tenable at ICTS, Bangalore

  2. Appointments for the above posts will be initially for one year which may be extended depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. The selected candidate(s) will be required to join immediately.

  3. Prescribed age should not exceed as on July 1, 2024 for the above posts. 

  4. The qualifications prescribed should have been obtained from recognized university/institution/boards. Wherever grades are awarded by Universities/Institutes in CGPA/SGPA/OGPA etc. system, candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula adopted by the University/Institute and mention the percentage at the appropriate column in the application form.
