Students and teachers from the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Christ University, Bangalore visited ICTS on 28th August 2025. They attended brief talks by the faculty, interacted over coffee, and explored the campus.
After an introduction to ICTS by Samriddhi Sankar Ray, Prayush Kumar introduced them to the concept of gravitational waves. He then talked about the applications of machine learning in the detection and analysis of gravitational waves. Following this, Sarthak Chandra spoke about the method of reservoir computing and its utility in studying noisy real-world systems. The questions that followed the talks covered reflections on pre-existing machine learning models and the accessibility of data for analysis.
After coffee, the visitors walked around the ICTS campus before heading back.
