The artists have been selected for the Connect India Arts Residency at ICTS & CERN. Each artist will present their work for 20 minutes, followed by a Q&A.
About the Speakers
Lou Masduraud is an artist based in Geneva, Switzerland. Interested in the spaces and practices of collective life, she deals with public fountains and hydraulic infrastructures as objects reflecting ideologies. In her practice of sculptures and installations, Lou Masduraud proposes fictional forms of reversals and alternatives to public objects to stimulate emancipation. Lou Masduraud develops a body of work with craft techniques such as bronze foundry, stone carving, or glazed ceramic, as well as contextual and conceptual artworks questioning normative regulatory systems and enabling counter-narratives for public life. Lou Masduraud was awarded the Geneva Manor Art Prize in 2023 and the Federal Price, Swiss Art Award in 2024.
Shailesh BR is an artist based in Delhi NCR, India. His practice is deeply rooted in philosophy and seeks to explore the fundamental aspects of our world, such as existing knowledge, systems, traditions, rituals, metaphysics, and philosophy itself. He accomplishes this through methods of science, technology, and artistic interventions. Shailesh will take the audience through his creative journey and process, which is driven by philosophy and his interests in science and technology.
