Roger Blandford is a Professor of Physics at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. He is also Pehong and Adele Chen Director, Kavli Institute of Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology, and Luke Blossom Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences at the Stanford University. He received his Ph.D from Magdalen College, Cambridge in 1974 and joined the California Institute of Technology in 1976. Since 2004 he has been the Chair, High Energy Astrophysics Division, American Astronomical Society.
