My research investigates the complex life cycle of internal gravity waves in geophysical flows, from their generation to turbulent breaking. I focus on quantifying the energy cascades resulting from nonlinear wave interactions, aiming to determine how energy is transferred across scales. These insights provide a rigorous basis for developing more accurate sub-grid scale parameterizations for coarse resolution models.
