We study the endpoint of black hole evaporation in JT gravity with matter coupled to an external bath. Semiclassically, evaporation can get trapped near a false vacuum instead of reaching the true traversable wormhole ground state. This suggests that the endgame requires genuine non-perturbative physics. To model this process, we adapt the non-perturbative bulk inner product construction of Luca et al. (2024) to one-boundary JT with end-of-the-world branes (EWBs). We then implement a Monte Carlo simulation of JT with EWBs coupled to a bath and use it to study bath-induced tunneling between brane flavors.
