The ICTS astrophysics and relativity group will organise a study hub of the Gravitational Wave Open Data Workshop 2025 at the ICTS campus in Bangalore. The workshop will include a set of lectures followed by hands-on tutorial sessions. Participants will get to learn state-of-the-art data analysis tools used by the LIGO-Virgo-Kagra collaboration to detect and analyse gravitational wave signals from compact binary mergers. The workshop is only open to individuals residing in the Bangalore area; ICTS is unable to provide accommodation. There will be shuttle buses available from IISc to ICTS and back.
Eligibility Criteria: The workshop is meant for postgraduate and PhD students interested in GW astronomy and related fields. A small number of highly motivated undergraduate students will also be considered. Participants are expected to know programming in python and basic understanding of time series analysis and statistical methods. Some background in GW astronomy is preferred.
ICTS is committed to building an environment that is inclusive, non discriminatory and welcoming of diverse individuals. We especially encourage the participation of women and other under-represented groups
